Hello lovelies! As you know this blog is all about being yourself and embracing who you are. I have had multiple requests to feature fashion for full-figured women. Ladies, today is your lucky day! ModCloth has asked me to participate in their Uniquely You campaign – can you think of a more perfect fit, ModCloth + The Lovely Thread?!
Here are the “CliffsNotes” on ModCloth :
ModCloth is an online clothing & accessory shop. Their clothing are modern fit with a vintage twist! They carry my personal favorite style of dress, fit & flare, in many different patterns and lengths. Best of all, they carry sizes 0-30 and s-4xl. They have clothing that is flattering for every body shape, so ladies get ready to embrace those fabulous curves!
The Outfit : Walk in the Park
Category : Casual Fit & Flare
Go to Hairstyle : Voluminous Bump or Daytime Blowout
Make Up : Natural eye with a subtle cat eye & rosy cheeks
Music Pairing : Steal my Sunshine – Len
(listen to it as you read this post. It’ll have you smiling ear to ear & singing along)
Where to wear this look : Day Date, Bridal Shower, Tea Time, Happy Hour with the Ladies
How to make it a night look : Ditch the hat & jacket, switch the wedges for nude peep toe pumps & the brown leather belt for a thin gold metallic belt.
1. Betsey Johnson Crossbody | 2. Straw Hat | 3. Mint Bib Necklace | 4. Butterfly Watch | 5. BB Dakota Dress (size 0-24) | 6. Denim Jacket | 7. Espadrille Wedges | 8. Bow Belt
This outfit is perfect for everyday wear. The dress can be worn casual, as I’ve presented here, or you can fancy it up. To keep it casual, add a jean jacket and carry the denim through the footwear with denim espadrille wedges. The wedges & hat give the outfit a summertime at the beach feel (don’t we always want that feeling?). I add a brown leather belt topped with a bow, the brown against the white gives the outfit a playful daytime look. I love the blues & greens in this BB Dakota dress. Since the outfit has darker overall appearance with the denim, choose to accessorize with mint to pull out the vibrant colors of the dress. The Betsey Johnson mint cross body is completed with a gold studded bow – does it get more fun than that?! The dress has a beautiful scoop neckline, this bib necklace does the trick to fill the bare chest space without over doing it. And finally, to finish off the look an elegant butterfly watch. I do not adhere to the saying, “It’s better arrive late than to arrive ugly” – keep an eye on your time, and you can arrive prompt & pretty! (Hoping my husband does not read this post otherwise he may disagree with me always being on “time”). You can see the look & where to buy at my Wanelo style board.

Hello friends! Did you think I forgot about you this week? My week has been filled with photoshoots and traveling! This past weekend I visited my lovely hometown, Cumberland Maryland, for a bridal shower and baby photoshoot. It was a fun packed weekend! The bridal shower was just an all around blast. We had bacon wrapped scallops, and ice cream bar and pee-yourself laughs.
In addition to having a blast with these chicks and catching up, I photographed beautiful little Jaeda.
Out of all the shoots I do, I most enjoy doing young children. There is such a sense of wonder and innocence in their emotions. Capturing their unique personalities at such a young age is so rewarding. I first met Jaeda when I photographed her as a newborn. At that time she was less than enthusiastic to be the center of attention. She has done a complete 180 – just look at her! She is a natural in front of the camera, fascinated by the sound it makes and from time to time trying to take it into her own hands.
Here is one of my favorite skills from the shoot, you can see more of Jaeda in my photography section.
Finally, to top off the week – my outfit of the day
Jumpsuits – a summer must have. They are so incredibly comfortable, and depending on how you accessorize, they can be casual or over the top fancy. This one is made from jersey material, a very stretchy lightweight fabric. I pair it with a whit ruffle short sleeve button up making it work appropriate and making it more feminine. The suit is a bit large, I had to go up a size for length, accessorizing with a belt makes it more fitted and emphases my waist. The pants on this outfit are super flare and demand attention, I go with simple jewelry to top it off – a long circle chain necklace & small hoop earrings.

Rainy Day Pink

Yuck. Monday was GROSS.
Shelby and I got absolutely soaked on our photoshoot, and needless to say, she way not amused.
I pair the ultra feminine pink dress with the combat Hunter rain boots, giving the look an edgy feel.
This trench is fab. The length of the sleeves is perfect for someone with abnormally long arms (I normally look like Frankenstein’s wife). I also love that it’s belted, giving me more of an hour glass shape.
Can we please just talk about how regal Shelby looks?! She was born to be in front of the camera.
Um, hello! These boots are so much fun! Look at all those buckles – and the wedge, loving it! I personally do not mind the “discoloring” of my hunter boots. I have heard many complain about this, it’s all personal preference. For this style of boot it takes the combat rough look to the next level.
Shelby has not had enough time in the spotlight. Check out her adorable rain jacket. She is not a fan of the rain, and as we all know, dogs can get pretty stinky when they get wet. This keeps the rain off of her keeping her comfy and smelling nice.
However, even with the rain jacket, she does not appreciate this damp weather.

Quick Post – New Hair!

Hello world! I decided last week as the season change approaches, I need a fresh look. I wanted something chic and modern, but not too trendy – something that would still allow me to stand out. Bangs. Yes! That’s what I needed, BANGS! So, last Thursday, against my husband’s wishes, I too the plunge. I held my breath for the first couple of snips, but by the time it was over I had already fallen in love with my new look. Here, take a look for yourself!
Here is my review of the stylist :
Previously, I cut my hair around 3 times a year – a stylist’s nightmare. I do my own coloring and I am a chick on a budget. PR at Partners is FABULOUS for anyone who wants to look chic and trendy without breaking the bank. The atmosphere is energizing and modern and the entire staff is welcoming.
The real gem you can find here is Casey Matthews. She is amazing and knowledgable at what she does. I came in with split end galore wanting a pretty drastic change – straight across bangs. I had not had bangs in a long time and was hesitant about the decision. She gave me a great consultation and told her honest opinion addressing all my concerns. Her rate is $45.00 an hour (absolutely unheard of for this area) and does a superb job. I will recommend her and continue going back to her. Not only is she great at styling but she is friendly and talkative – I LOVE a stylist who can carry on a good conversation.
I should mention, my husband LOVES the new cut. ( even though he was unsure beforehand )
I HIGHLY recommend Casey & PR at Partners as a whole. Fabulous job.
